The Vienna Film Fund, in collaboration with FilmTiki, would like to invite you to a panel discussion on "Online Film Marketing and Distribution - How to reach, involve and mobilise your audience using new media". The event will take place in Vienna on 11 May 2009 and features renowned industry experts.

This event is for newcomers and established members of the film and television industry alike and aims to create awareness for the opportunities inherent to online channels when used for movie distribution and promotion.

The panellists will provide answers to questions such as "How to approach traditional sales agents, e.g. at the Cannes Film Festival, when intending to sell a film online and offline?" The attendees will receive valuable tips and tricks, which they can use right away when visiting the upcoming Cannes Film Festival.

Iris Lamprecht explains online trends and gives an overview of the various possibilities and how they affect the film industry.

17:00 Online distribution channels I Cay Wesnigk

Cay Wesnigk talks about the possibilities and characteristics of online film distribution and explains those new distribution models by demonstrating the platform onlinefilm.org.

17:45 Case Study: Online Film Marketing in Austria I Katharina Schinkinger, Stefan Häckel, Erich Lackner

Based on the current Case Study "Contact High" (directed by Michael Glawogger and Michael Ostrowski) Schinkinger, Häckel and Lackner describe the use of online channels such as blogs, Twitter, Facebook et.al. in Austrian film marketing.

The panellists will discuss current trends and provide ideas for dealing with both traditional and online marketing and distribution worlds.
