Turkish March - A Documentary about Prejudice
How do Austrians perceive Turkish culture through the distorted mirror of media depiction and their own cultural background? Whay are they afraid of a 3rd Turkish Siege? What picture, on the other hand, does the average American have of Austria? And what about the Spanish, French, Brazilians or Chinese? What do they know about Austria?
This documentary boldly juxtaposes the two views in order to help unravel the absurdity of the "Myth of Fear", which causes the insurmountable chasm between a realistic and objective assessment and the way we choose to perceive a culture: through the tainted glasses of prejudice and personal history.
